8th Annual Biotechnology Symposium
It is not too late to register! Let BEST Program staff know if you are interested in attending so you can hitch a ride and reimburse your registration cost! You will hear about the latest research going on throughout the state on the following session topics: Biomaterials, Biofuels/Bioenergy, Biotech/Health, Food Biotech, Nanobiotechnology, Wines, Environmental Biotechnology, and Forest Biotechnology
The symposium fosters the exchange of ideas among industry representatives and scientists, academics, students, and other professionals interested in biotechnology; and works to develop synergies and relationships that further advance the field. It has a history of convening the region’s most promising and innovative biotechnology companies and experts, both as speakers and participants.
This year, BESTie Kathleen Hefferon's abstract was chosen in the Biotechnology & Health session for an oral presentation on "Plant-derived Pharmaceuticals for Developing Countries".
BEST Senior Director Susi Varvayanis will moderate the plenary panel discussion "Education: From Theory to Practice" featuring leaders from the high school, community college, university and industry sectors who will share their perspectives on how we should be rethinking science education practices.
See the agenda for complete information about the symposium and how to register.
For questions regarding registration please contact Jake O'Connell at email@example.com.
This is an excellent opportunity for BEST participants to present. See the Call for Abstracts here. Deadline for abstract submission is January 29, 2015.
Four cash prizes for the best posters!
