Cornell Advancing Science And Policy (ASAP)

Initiated by BESTies...please come to the first meeting of Cornell Advancing Science And Policy (ASAP)

A new group for graduate students, postdocs, and faculty interested in the intersection of science, policy, and society.

Economic growth and societal well-being are intimately linked to scientific discoveries and technological innovation. Scientists need to raise their voice as we face increasingly difficult questions about energy policy, healthcare, science funding, patent law reform, digital surveillance, education, risk management, and so on. The Cornell Advancing Science And Policy (ASAP) group aims to engage STEM students in the policy making process and educate the public about the role of scientific input in advancing society. As a member of ASAP, you may:

      learn about science policy issues

educate the public about science and policy

prepare for a career in science policy, industry, or media

If you are interested in joining the group, please email Chelsea Gregg at or Ismail El Baggari at

How to get involved in ASAP: Check out the new ASAP website and Facebook group for continually updating science policy news and opportunities! Or, join the ASAP-BEST mailing list to get less frequent email summaries of our postings.
